Wedding Wednesday: Engagement Announcements + Win a $200 Starbucks Gift Card

To be honest, I used to roll my eyes when my favorite bloggers decided to do these very same posts. Although I enjoyed seeing pretty photos of lace dresses and floral arrangements from time to time, I always wondered why they didn't just stick to the script. But after four months of being engaged, I've realized how much these posts have helped me, as I begin the planning process for my own wedding. So, if you find yourself saying "Why, Natasha, Why?" I promise you'll thank me sooner or later ;)

The fiancée and I have quite some time on our hands. We've decided on an April 2017 wedding! As much as I'd like to think we have all the time in the world, I don't want to find myself procrastinating over the next year and regretting lost time. It's also nice to know that I can fully enjoy this process and minimize the stress factor (to some degree at least). During these posts, I hope to share tips and tricks, vendors I recommend, processes I found helpful, decor ideas, DIY crafts and most importantly, full-proof ways to save as you plan... because we all know that any little bit helps when preparing for the big day.

My date has been confirmed and my venue has been booked... pheewww! I've probably visited at least 30 venues and analyzed each and every little detail. It boiled down to two, and the fiancée pointed me into the right direction. DONE! Still mulling over some theme ideas, but the big things are out of the way and I feel so blessed to be able to move onto the fun stuff! We've decided that we won't be sending out official announcements, but we are planning to do an engagement shoot and will send save-the-dates to our guest list in a few months. The options are endless and you have to find your own unique style, but I wanted to share these cute engagement photo ideas I saw online:

Who knew there were FREE printable engagement announcements, save-the-dates and invitation templates you can download online? There are even low-cost custom options you can purchase from designers too! If you can't afford to splurge, this is a great way to save a 'lil cash and invest in something else that's important to you.

Life Lately + oNecklace for the Holidays

Happy Holidays!! Writing a quick synopsis of my life over the last few weeks is a bit of a challenge, but I'll give it a go! My world has been turned inside out, for all good reasons! I submitted my two weeks notice from a dream job that I've had for five years and accepted a new dream position I can't wait dive into. I sold all my furniture via Craigslist (and survived - a 'lil joke among friends), moved out of my studio apartment in the amazing (but challenging) city of New York.... then moved into a house with a white picket fence and a yard in the Sunshine State. Now, I'm unpacking boxes and catching up with family and friends I've missed so much. There is more, but in a nutshell, I'm so grateful for all the wonderful things that have come my way, and I'm so hopeful for what 2016 has in store for me.

As I sit here the morning after Christmas, reflecting on all the exciting changes ahead, I'm reminded of the most wonderful moments I've experienced this year, with a little help from oNecklace. Around my neck lies the prettiest bar necklace, engraved with the date my fiancé proposed to me in roman numerals. Such a sweet way to commemorate that day in September that chanced my life forever. I'm also wearing a dainty, gold plated circle midi ring, stamped with the letter "N" on my right hand. The initial ring is always something I wanted to add to my jewelry collection, and was thrilled that oNecklace had my initial in stock. The letter "N" symbolizes so much more than just my name and it's nice reminder every time I wear it.

If you're still on the hunt for that perfect holiday or New Year's gift, personalized is always the right way to go. I recently purchased the same bar necklace for a friend, and I know she'll smile the minute she opens the box. Here are some other oNecklace favorites (pssst.... all orders ship FREE and within 24 hours of hitting the purchase button):

I hope you're enjoying the Merriest of Christmases!
